IM A SINNER SAVED

If you have been following me on Twitter and Instagram, the title of this post is in some way familiar. That’s my username for both of the social accounts mentioned.

“Thank you for giving up on me. Because if you didn’t I wouldn’t be where I am right now.”

They’re will be a case in point in our entire lifetime that we want to be remove from the situation causing us something painful, something tragic that you just want to disappear into thin air.

Someone asked me this “Why do you read the Bible and why do you go to church?” The answer I will have in mind that would have to be my default answer is “Because I am a Christian”

True enough, we are Christians, I came from a family that has been traditionally going to church, praying and should there be special occasions such as Christmas, New Years, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Thanksgiving – we make sure that we must not miss a mass.

Diminutive to the tradition I grew up to, I asked myself “So how it is being a Christian really means?” I wanted to work on my faith, I was intrigued by my classmates who know the Bible, they can tell me a number of Bible verses effortlessly and I was amazed by that. I want to have that relationship with Him, I wanted to. The haunt on where and how will I start to have this journey was the challenge I feel in countenance with for a number of years. Been hearing about “SFC” (Singles for Christ) yet where to attend to was one of the tests I can’t win over with. In the family, I was vocal about of joining but it will just a fail, a fail that I continuously getting for years, too.

The story how and when the battle of searching was over. Thankful to my brother who got the flyer on behalf of me, because I was busy answering text messages after the mass when someone was trying to give me the leaflet yet I didn’t notice. In short, it fell in front of my face literally. At first, I was hesitant to go to but I gave in.

In the early days, I’m predicting that I will not be able to finish the weeks that the program will run before you will called a member of the community. My schedule was unbearable, no sleep yet and I must attend to or else I will miss a Saturday class (that’s how I call it back then – CLP or Christian Life Program as classes that’ll run in the course of 13 dreaded weeks) But looking back at those servants, they are happy individuals who has this certain glow that I cannot explain and I told myself I want to have what these guys have; it is intriguing.

Yes, it was intriguing at the onset. The way they evangelize people is like a talent that I don’t know how on earth it was acquired. There were even instances that I don’t want to continue anymore because I want to choose sleep as opposed to attending CLP instead. See? Selfish as it may sound.

While you keep on attending, and attending and attending, your mindset will be changed. Maybe your initial goal was “I want to finish it because I already started it” No. Change is born in the heart, and if you are decided to accept Jesus in you, he will help you accept His Father. Fall in love with Jesus, and you will be surprised how much fire you will have in your heart to continue seeking the love and get to know more of your God.

The good news is a GOOD news that you must not keep. It must be shared. All people are sinners who deserve God’s righteous, eternal wrath. But with evangelization, we will know that God is Holy and how amazing and merciful His love is.

I’m a SINNER SAVED and with this being said, I am not afraid of what my life will be.

  2. So what this means is, that change doesn't just come from attending meetings, and attending mass as a routine. It must come from the heart, the true desire to change and strive for something better in life. In this case, the acceptance of the WORD, will guide you to Him, which in turn, He will provide you with what you need for a better life.

    1. Yes. Attending mass should not be taken as a routine per se. Listening to the preachers will help you further understand and learn God's WORDS. Doing it on our own is okay but strongly suggested that we listen to preachers because they are blessed with the gift of knowledge in spreading God's messages. Change is born in the heart, if we are not putting our heart 100% on it - then chances are we may fail in changing if we really want to obey Him and be His follower.
