HONG KONG

I actually fell in love with this city. It was not much of a plan when I first booked our tickets for this trip a couple of months ago, or was it late last year?

The idea of having this family trip was more of a surprise to my LOVES! The month of June is really special for us. This month is equals to many celebrations that it will fall on the same day weekly through the course of June. My Dad’s birthday, our youngest birthday, father’s day and my parents’ wedding anniversary; now you know what I meant by the word “special”

When I accidentally saw the dirt cheap promo at Cebu Pacific site, I didn’t think twice but booked 6 tickets (yes, we are six in the family) and guess how cheap was dirt cheap? Php 11 pesos for one way per person; yes that cheap that you will not even think twice if you will go or not. Since the dates I have chosen was the last week of June, it will definitely mean that my parents will get to celebrate their wedding anniversary on a different place again J last year was at my Dad’s hometown, the ever beautiful Island of Samal, Davao City.

I remember that when my Dad found of this surprise, we kept on talking about our plans everyday during breakfast! He did a lot of travelling before so he mentioned a lot of places that we should visit once we were there. To name a few that we successfully had our stopover were: Harbour City, Causeway Bay, Central, The Peak, Madame Tussauds, Lan Kwai Fong & SoHo, Times Square, Stanley Market, IFC Mall and Ocean Park. Our 5 days was not enough and yet we were wanting for a longer stay L  there were two parks. Along the way, we have seen the US Emabssy and paid a visit to St. Joseph Chapel near the Tram.

The original plan of having 6 of us going to the trip was not made possible due to unavoidable state of affairs. This day is my Dad’s 4th month after his birthday to eternal life. That having been said, you know the reason why. Still, we celebrated our parents’ wedding anniversary at Ocean Park. My plan was to let them see how beautiful the city was during the cable car trip. That would’ve been sooo romantic! Of course, my Dad’s presence will be forever with us. Thus, making us secure on a strange place.

We met some new friends and saying our gratitude to the three of them is not enough. They volunteered to give us a city tour, and bring us to places since all of them are working in Hong Kong for quite a long time now. See? Blessings come in packages that were more than what we expect.

The guy from Hong Kong Tourism Board in Tsim Sha Tsui was ever accomodating. Thanks to you sir, which unintentionally forgot his name  L

Here are some photos from the trip we had. I encourage you to include Hong Kong in your list of places to visit before you die, or if you have this kind of list.

Goofing around at Victoria. I know, I was born at the year of the Pig (or Boar) and too bad that we are leaving Sunday that week and the Dragon Boat Festiaval was on Monday. Huhu :'( please someone invite me back in HK and I'll be there in a blink of an eye :P

I really can't help but take a look outside each morning from our hotel window. The busy street was amazing in a way that many people cross a huge pedestrian were all the vehicles from all directions stop to give way to all the passersby. The second think I love is how clean the city is and it's safe even if you walk outside in wee hours.

Regardless of your age, admittedly you will be back to being a child once you see Ocean Park. When I first saw the cable cars after I had my card scanned, seriously I was jumping! Not to mention the Mexican musicians called our attention to have our pictures taken with them. Such a sweet welcome for the tourists. *big smiles*

This park is actually hidden in the jungle of buildings right in the heart of the city. Would you believe? If I'm working there and got stress, I'll definitely hit this place and get myself an ice cream. There's a man made falls, lots of fishes and a very creative antique inspired drinking fountain.

This was at the Tsim Sha Tsui. So sosyal the place is leaving me speechless :P

***EDIT***

The entry you've just read actually made it to twylah and I didn't know how but I'm glad it did :)
