Family gatherings seem to be the most dreaded get-together that I don’t
want to attend anymore. My guy cousins always see me and tease me big time,
fine they are all my “kuya” so given the fact that they will bully me. My Aunts
and Uncles who never get used to asking me the same question over and over “May
boyfriend ka na ba?” and I was like, “C’mon give up!” haha! They keep on
telling me na di baling iba na ang tumandang dalaga huwag lang ikaw. Hahaha!
Funny peeps :P
Why everyone is given the impression that they are pressured, while I
on the other hand seem not affected at all? My friends from college, high
school and elementary who had tied the knot asked me the same question, too “Kailan
ka ba mag aasawa?” again, this topic is so old even on my past entries. Haist. My
singlehood bothers everyone that much.
I even remembered my Dad asking me on my 25th birthday, “Anak,
ano ba talaga ang plano mo?” and I was like, “Plano po saan? Sa work?” Dad said
“Hindi, sa buhay. Wala ka man lang pinapakilala. Yan ang ibig ko sabihin” Yeah,
I knew what my Dad meant but I was just being impish but I know what he means. He
wanted to hve grandchildren, too bad he wasn’t able to have one. But of course,
I will name my first born after his name J
sounds like a plan, isn’t it?
“Choosy ka kasi” this is the common phrase I got. Correction: I’m
not choosy, I just don’t feel like dating someone who doesn’t do anything in
his life but drink, smoke, party hard and bum for life. Do I give justice to
the phrase I usually get then? Well, yes for sure. Justification to the phrase thought
up for me should be erased since it’s subjective, by the way.
I had fair amount of dating stints should you wish to call it that
way. All these men are nice and seem okay, gentlemen, has good looks and they
have plans in their lives. But it didn’t prosper into something else for the
reason – I don’t know. Glad, we are still friends and some of them are happily
engaged to be married.
To all the girls out there, admit it you have a mental checklist
too! Mine is basic: clean fingernails! (I
bet you look at your nails after reading that. Lol! All my friends’ reaction
was like that.)
It’s more than good looks, status and name that matters. What is
important is the values instilled and attitude that the person carries.
So having all these been said, I can say that Music is my Boyfriend. Because I can't live without it.
