MIRACLE IN CELL NO. 7

I can’t remember how many movies I had watched but there were only a few that made me cry. Probably like a couple of tears which is enough for 2 sheets of Kleenex. The scene in 4 Sisters and a Wedding were they are confrontational with one another. Spell Relate Much. Not that we are like that in real life, but we are 4 in the family too and mind you, that scene made a lot of my friends (who did see the movie as well) shed some tears. Questioning one another over chit-chat breaks “Who is the character that can speak about your persona the most?” Mine would have to be Bea Alonzo’s character, the New Yorker since I am bias and she is my favorite actress.

Nothing beats “Miracle in Cell No. 7” like this one will not make you cry, but literally hagulgol to be specific. It was funny that I was the only one crying during the time we are watching this but seriously, I’m really that sensitive when it comes to Father-Daughter relationship. Probably the relationship I’ve had with my Papa is special. Too blessed that my Dad was an important person – he is a blessing to his family and to his family. A provider, a protector, a friend, a loving husband, a loving father. What else can you ask for? I’ve learned a lot from him, how to take things in a lighter perspective. I confess that I am a Papa’s girl. Daily musings on how I run my life after he passed away was such a struggle that I feel like I’m in a tug-o-war kind of game. I missed how he comforts me with his “words of wisdom” and this was even supported by a Bible verse more often than not. He is a smart man and I really admire him for that. I even remember telling him one time “You know everything” and he answered me “I was just born ahead of you princess”

I strongly suggest that you may want to take a break from watching rom-com (romantic comedy) films and sit down with your family to see this flick. You may not realize what kind of relationship you have with your father right now, but may this movie somehow touched your heart. Honor your father everyday, not just during Father’s Day. We are so busy with our work or studies and neglecting the importance of our Dads in our daily lives.
