LITTLE HANDS

The weird concoction of pan de coco and muffin pizza made me realize what this post is all about. Most of the time, we neglect the people who serve us in the form of a gasoline boy, a happy girl at the food counter or the masseuse who is very kind enough to do chit chats with you while making sure you will get relaxed. Yes, at maisingit ko lang talaga na kumakain ako while writing this post. Hehe.

For the past weeks that I was stressing over clients’ deliverables, meetings (personal and business), on the side trips and more, at last my body asked for a break it deserve. Lucky me that I get to squeeze time for some pampering “me time” moment and all I can say after the day was over was “AAHHHHHHH!” what a relaxing day it was for me! The weird hormones are getting haywire for the past days and I do blame them since my temper is a bit short (compared to my normal days) which for the matter of I get easily irritated over petty things. As petty as something fell out of my hand, how about that iniquitous “flying packet of ketchup” sounds?

Getting myself a bruise or a paper cut is very common that’s why I always have pieces of band-aid stash in my wallet. Being extra careful at any rate, still I will find ways to injure a part of my body. I remembered having a bad cut on my left thumb 2 years ago which left a scar and a nerve or two was damaged and senses on that finger was impacted already. I don’t know what on earth came in my mind to press the cork that hard on the mini-bottle I was holding and it cracked right before my very eyes! Imagine you crushed a bottle using your index and thumb. There’s blood everywhere and when I screamed sooo loud, my Dad came rushing to my room to check what incident AGAIN I get myself into. That’s pretty predictable of me if you live with me under one roof.

When my thumb was still on the course of healing, I feel so weak – weak in a sense that I cannot shampoo my hair well, I cannot eat well, and in short, my performance on all of my activities was really affected. See? Even if it’s just a finger that was hurt, my entire left hand was somehow feeble and cannot catch up with my right hand. Hay naku! In-born clumsy kasi. Tsk.

Our body is compose of different parts, yet each part has significant purpose. Hands, our little hands play the most important part of all the body parts I guess; well of course each has its own importance. Eyes, ears, and even our feet are all part on ONE BODY. I’d like to give emphasis on hands instead. It made much more logic on me because of the pampering day I had recently. Those hands of Ate Jane was amazing, she knows exactly how much pressure is needed to be applied on my back. And yes, my back pain is acting up so I bad that I ended up having a massage that day. After the appointment with dear Ate Jane, I headed out to the nearest Jollibee (because I am a Jollibee baby, yipppeee!) and ordered a meal for 2 because I am so, so hungry! I was supposed to head home but unfortunately, the guy who will be picking me up was stuck in traffic and it may take him an hour or less so I just decided to eat while waiting which is a good excuse anyways J Again, another set of “hands” serving me so I’ll get a decent meal. Thankful for the cheerful crew who was so patient with me while I was being all indecisive checking the menu while tapping the counter at the same time as carefully thinking what I should get. Haaay, I easily get distracted with food talaga. Tsk.

What struck me the most from all of the good “customer service” I got that day, the gasoline boy was pretty amazing I would say. First, he was so, sooo polite in greeting us and asked right away how he can be of service. Next, he offered if he can clean the windshield, though it is still squeaky clean. Lastly, he even said “Thank you sir/ma’am ingats po kayo maulan!” (Thank you sir/ma’am please be safe on the road, it’s raining!) with waving of hand pa. Ang lakas maka feeling close nung "ingats" Haha! Close na tayo kuya, hihi.

Not everyday you will get this kind of treatment from establishments with a lot of customers. As expected, they might be tired already and the energy level is depleting nearing zero. But the three of them gave me RAK (random act of kindness) God bless them all.

Same thing with our hands, we are all part of one body. I may be an ear and my friend might be the eyes, still we belong to one body, we belong to one God. By the end of the day, we belong to GOD. Each of us plays an important work in our lives, we may feel useless sometimes but don't let that negativity consume you. Remember, you are part of the one body, so therefore be glad and thankful of whatever purpose you may have and use that opportunity to advance God's kingdom and do things to glorify Him.

I like the shifting of your thoughts... There is a story which you can relate a certain verse from the Bible.
